Barn Circa 100 Metres South West Of Drummersdale Lane

This barn, located approximately 100 metres south west of Drummersdale Farmhouse, is likely from the late 17th century. It is constructed of handmade brick resting on a stone plinth, topped with a stone slate roof. The barn has a rectangular three-bay layout oriented north to south, with an additional bay added at the southern end. There are opposed wagon entrances in the original middle bay, with a full-height entrance on the east side and a half-height entrance on the west side. Slit breathers are present on all sides, although those on the south gable are covered by a later addition. A doorway is located near the front of the north gable, and there is a square loading door for the loft. Inside, the barn features two original collar trusses with angle struts and two pairs of trenched overlapped purlins.
