Description
No. 3 Roby Mill is a small house dated 1725, located in Up Holland. It is constructed from coursed squared sandstone rubble and features a composition tile roof with a brick chimney. The house has a transitional double-depth two-unit plan and a catslide roof at the single-storey rear. It stands at two low storeys and has two windows. The doorway is offset to the left and has a rectangular lintel, a set-in wooden doorcase, and a renewed studded board door with strap hinges. The house has three-light sliding sash windows on both floors, which include glazing bars that are likely renewed. Between the upper windows, there is a datestone inscribed "1725," which is also probably renewed. A gable chimney is located to the right, and the long catslide roof extends to the rear. This building is part of a group of structures.
