Small house. Dated 1812 at 1st floor; altered. Roughcast render (probably on sandstone rubble), stone slate roof (now tarred), brick chimneys. Double-depth double-fronted plan. Two storeys and 2 windows, symmetrical; with plain render below ground-floor sill level, a central doorway with plain surround, 2-light sashed windows with columnar mullions and no glazing bars, and a datestone in the centre of the upper floor inscribed: E/J H/1812. Gable chimneys. Forms group with Nos 38, 40 and 42 adjoining to left (qv).
