Description

Great Dudlands is a house that possibly dates from the early 18th century and incorporates some reused dressings. It is constructed of sandstone rubble and has a slate roof. The building features a double-pile plan with end chimneys and stands two storeys high with two bays. The windows are mullioned, double-chamfered, and consist of three lights, with the ground floor windows having extended mullions.

The door, located between the bays, is cyma moulded and has a Tudor-arched head. It features a cavetto cornice with a central stone that has been reused and carved with two dog-tooth ornaments. Above the door, there is a re-set section of a stone rainwater spout.

At the rear of the house, which faces north-west, there are mullioned windows. The ground floor windows are double-chamfered, with one having six lights and king mullions on the left, and the other having three lights with restored mullions on the right. On the first floor, there are two three-light mullioned windows; the left one is chamfered, while the right one is rebated and chamfered with restored mullions. Between these windows is a stair window that has a plain stone surround and a semi-circular head. To the right of the stair window is a door with a plain stone surround.
