Description

This milestone, likely dating from around 1900, is made of cast iron and is bolted onto a sandstone support. The structure has a triangular shape at the bottom and a rectangular shape at the top. The lower section features the inscription 'SKIPTON 12 MILES' on the left side and 'CLITHEROE 6 MILES' on the right side. The upper part has a semi-circular top and is inscribed with 'SKIPTON & CLITHEROE ROAD. GISBURN'.
