Description
Dale End Cottage is a row of houses, originally a house and farm buildings, built in 1691 and altered over time. The structure is made of sandstone rubble and has a tile roof, standing two storeys high. The original windows are rebated and chamfered with mullions. No.91 features two bays and has first-floor windows with two and three lights. The ground-floor windows are sashed with glazing bars and have plain stone surrounds. Above these windows is a drip course that ends beyond the door to No.90, which is located to the right. The door to No.91, situated between the bays, has a moulded surround with a shaped lintel inscribed with '1691 IS'.
No.90 has two first-floor windows, but the mullions have been removed. On the ground floor, it has two windows set within doorways that have chamfered surrounds. The door on the left has plain reveals and is partly within an original window surround. No.92, to the left, has a window with a stone surround, and above it is a similar window. To the right on the first floor is a window with a rebated and chamfered surround. Below this are two doors with plain reveals set within a blocked wide entrance that features a segmental arch. Additionally, there is a blocked doorway on the left. The building has chimneys on the gables and to the left of No.91.
