Description
Poplar House is an early 19th-century house constructed from sandstone rubble and topped with a stone slate roof. It features a double-depth plan and stands two storeys tall with an attic, comprising three bays. The windows are sashed and have plain stone surrounds. The central bay contains the door, which is framed by a stone doorcase supported by crude Doric pilasters. The gutter is held up by shaped stone brackets, and there are gable chimneys. The left-hand gable wall includes an attic window with glazing bars and plain reveals, while the right-hand gable wall has a re-set moulded door surround with a lintel inscribed with '1622 TS WS'.
