Description
Ivy Cottage and Ivy House are a pair of mid-18th century houses located on the east side of Main Street in Wray-with-Botton. They are constructed from sandstone rubble and topped with a stone slate roof, featuring a double-depth plan and two storeys.
Ivy Cottage, situated on the left, has one bay with three-light windows that have flat-faced mullions and plain stone surrounds. The entrance is to the right, sheltered by a glazed porch, and features a plain stone surround. Above the door is a one-light window with a rendered surround, which appears to be a later addition.
Ivy House, which mirrors the construction of Ivy Cottage, has two bays and similar windows, but includes glazing bars. The right bay contains a three-light window, while the left bay features a two-light window on the first floor and a larger window with plain reveals below. The door, positioned between the two bays, has a stone surround with edge roll moulding. Both sides of Ivy House are topped with chimneys.
