Description

Walnut Cottage is a house dating from 1673, with its front wall likely rebuilt in the late 19th century. It is constructed from sandstone rubble and topped with a slate roof. The building has two storeys and three bays. The windows are sashed without glazing bars and feature projecting chamfered stone surrounds. The door, located between the first and second bays, has a re-set chamfered stone surround and a shaped lintel that includes a carved design and the inscription 'RMM 1673'. There is a chimney on the right-hand gable. The rear wall contains a one-light rebated and chamfered fire window with a round head.
