Description

A row of houses dating from about 1800, constructed from squared sandstone with a slate roof. The row comprises Greystones and numbers 1, 2 and 3. Greystones itself has a front wall that projects forward, with the two outer sides each containing a single bay featuring sash windows with glazing bars and simple stone surrounds. The central side of Greystones is blank on the first floor and has a doorway with a plain stone surround and a moulded hood. Number 1 is of two bays and has sash windows with glazing bars and plain stone reveals, along with a door and a wide cart entrance, all with plain reveals. Numbers 2 and 3 are a mirrored pair, each with sash windows with glazing bars and plain stone reveals, and adjacent doors with plain reveals. Chimneys are located at each end of the row and to each side of Greystones. Attached to the rear is a large joiner’s shop constructed of timber and glass.
