Description
This milestone, dating from around 1800, is located 25 metres north of the Manor House on Slyne Road in Slyne-with-Hest. It is made of sandstone and features cast-iron plates. The milestone has a triangular section with a semi-circular base. The name 'SLYNE-WITH-HEST' is incised at the base. The left-hand plate indicates a distance of 'Burton VII 1/2 miles', while the right-hand plate shows 'Lancaster III miles'.
