Description
Ashton House is a farmhouse dating from 1723, as indicated by the inscription on the lintel. It is constructed of slobbered rubble and features a slate roof. The building has a two-unit central entry plan with gable stacks and stands two storeys tall.
The front of the house includes a three-light rebated and chamfered mullioned window to the left of the front door, and a three-light chamfered window to the right, along with a one-light blocked chamfered fire window beyond. On the first floor, there is a three-light rebated and chamfered mullioned window on the left and another three-light chamfered mullioned window on the right. The doorway is adorned with cyma moulding.
On the left-hand return wall, there is a one-light chamfered window. At the rear, the ground floor features a rebated and chamfered surround, while the stair window has a chamfered surround and there is a three-light chamfered mullioned window on the first floor.
