Description
Slyne Lodge Hotel is a hotel built around 1830, with later 19th-century additions. It features punched squared sandstone and a slate roof. The southern part of the building is two storeys high and has three bays, with end stacks and chamfered quoins, suggesting it is the older section. Most windows are sash style with glazing bars, except for the right-hand ground-floor window, which is blank. The ground-floor windows have shouldered chambranle architraves with pulvinated friezes and triangular pediments, while the first-floor windows have shouldered architraves. The left-hand gable has projecting eaves that create an open pediment with a central moulded round panel, which is now blank. At the rear, there is a wing that shares similar architectural details. The northern part of the building is lower, also two storeys with an attic, and has two bays. Its windows are similarly styled with sash frames and shouldered architraves. The porch features corner pilasters, a cornice, and a blocking course, with a door that has a moulded surround and a semi-circular head. The roof includes two modern attic dormers and there is a chimney on the north gable.
