Description

Slyne Grange is a house dating from the late 18th century, incorporating earlier remains from the early 18th century. Constructed of rubble, with a pebbledashed front, it has a slate roof. Originally a two-unit house built in the early 18th century, it was later extended to the right and re-fronted. The house now has two storeys and three bays. The front features plain stone surrounds to the door and windows. The central doorway has been replaced with a French window. To the left is a double sash window divided by a stone mullion and containing glazing bars. To the right is a similar window. The first-floor windows are sashed with glazing bars. Chimneys are located on the gables and between bays two and three. The rear wall has a window with a stone surround, a keystone and a semi-circular head. To the right of the rear wall is a chamfered window surround on the first floor, above later extensions. A tall, gabled stair wing features a long window, now partly blocked.
