Description
Church Gates Cottage and the barn adjoining to the north date from the mid-18th century. They are constructed of sandstone rubble and topped with a slate roof. The cottage is two storeys high and has two bays, featuring flush chamfered mullioned windows with two lights, except for the left-hand window on the ground floor, which has three lights. The door, located between the bays, is framed by a stone surround with a slight cyma moulding and is sheltered by an open timber porch. There are chimneys at both ends of the cottage. The adjoining barn to the right has a wide entrance with plain reveals and a segmental arch, along with blocked breathers and a blocked door on the left.
