Description
Storrs Gate Farmhouse and the adjoining barn to the south date from the mid-18th century. They are constructed from sandstone rubble and topped with a slate roof, and the farmhouse stands two storeys high. The original house features two bays, with window surrounds that have slight chamfers and flat-faced mullions. The ground floor has a three-light window, while the first floor has a two-light window. The door, located between the bays, has long-and-short jambs and is topped with a hood made of two pitched stone slates. An additional bay on the left includes sashed windows with plain reveals. There are end chimneys, plus a third chimney to the right of the added bay.
The barn on the right is taller and has a central door with plain reveals, along with a blocked doorway directly above it. On the ground floor to the right, there is another blocked door. The rear of the barn features later additions and a wide entrance with plain reveals and a timber lintel. Inside, there are four trusses with tie beams and collars.
