Description
Willow Cottage is a house dating from 1693, constructed of slobbered rubble with a slate roof. It features a symmetrical design with two storeys and four bays. The windows are rebated and chamfered with mullions, consisting of three lights, except for the outer bays which have one light each, and the first-floor window in the central bay, which has two lights. On the ground floor, the windows on either side of the door each have one of their three lights blocked. There is a drip course above the ground floor. The door is framed by a moulded surround and has a lintel inscribed with 'RL [Robert Lawson] 1693 PL [Peter Lawson]'. The cottage has gable chimneys. Inside, there is reportedly a shouldered fireplace typical of the 18th century and a spice cupboard inscribed with '1695 PLI'.
