Description
Goss House is a house built in 1752, with some remains from the 17th century. It features slobbered rubble and a slate roof. The building has a symmetrical design, consisting of two storeys and three bays, with a drip course that is interrupted by the doorway. The windows have architraves and flat-faced mullions, with three lights in most windows, except for the central window on the first floor, which has two lights. The doorway is adorned with an eared architrave that includes a keystone carved with a mask within a shell, a pulvinated frieze, and the inscription '1752 J.Cort' within a dentilled pediment. The house also has shaped stone gutter brackets and gable chimneys. Inside, there are chamfered main ceiling joists and a dog-leg staircase featuring a closed string, turned balusters, and a ramped and wreathed handrail.
