Description
Green Bank Cottage is a house dating from the late 17th century that has been altered. It is constructed of slobbered rubble and has a slate roof. The building is two storeys high and features three bays. The windows are sashed with glazing bars and have some remnants of rebated and chamfered surrounds. A drip course rises above the doorway in the central bay, which has a chamfered surround with a battlemented lintel and is accessed by external steps. There are chimneys at both ends of the building. The coping on the right-hand gable has a kneeler cut for a roof with a steeper pitch. Under the chimney on the right-hand gable, there is a blocked two-light chamfered attic window. Inside, some main ceiling joists are exposed, and one in the left-hand room may be a firehood bressumer. The current shouldered stone fireplace is of 18th-century style.
