Description

The churchyard wall bordering Main Street in Melling-with-Wrayton is constructed of sandstone rubble, with its age being uncertain. At both the northern and southern entrances to the churchyard, there are five steps, each with a rectangular plan. The southern entrance features gate piers that are of 18th-century design, made of sandstone ashlar and square in shape. These gate piers have cyma-moulded bases and moulded cornices.
