Description
The Barn is a barn built in 1795, constructed from watershot sandstone and topped with a stone slate roof. It features an original outshut on the south-west side, which includes a recessed wide entrance with a segmental arch. To the left of this entrance are breathers on the ground floor and a pitching hole with plain reveals above. On the right side, there is a door with long-and-short jambs. The left-hand gable wall, which faces the road, has three shippon doors with long-and-short jambs, along with a similar door to the right leading to the outshut. Between and above these doors are additional breathers. Under the apex of the gable wall is a semi-circular keyed opening with a plain stone surround. Above this opening is a circular owl hole, which has a stone surround inscribed with 'RR 1795'.
