Description
The churchyard wall, with railings and gate piers to the south and steps to the north, is likely from around 1825 and was damaged around 1995. It features coursed stone walls, ashlar piers, and wrought-iron railings. The wall is approximately 450 meters long and varies in height, reaching about 2 meters high, especially along the north side, where it is topped by railings on the south side facing the road. A section of the wall measuring 2 meters was damaged by a car crash.
The steps on the north side are made of stone and are set into a steep bank, designed in a dogleg form. The octagonal piers have battlemented capstones, while the railings consist of alternating straight and wavy pointed rails. The low stone wall has chamfered coping and returns to form a flanking wall for about 4 meters along the church approach. A footpath connects the churchyard gates to the steps on the north side, which may have existed before the church was built. By the late 19th century, the area north of the church was densely populated with back-to-back housing. This structure is included for its group value.
