Description

Milestone, mid 19th century, made of sandstone. It has a triangular shape with a sloping top that is inscribed with the word 'CATON'. The left side is marked with 'TO LANCASTER 6 MILES', while the right side features the inscriptions 'TO HORNBY 3 MILES', 'KY. LONSDALE 10½ MILES', and 'INGLETON 12 MILES'.
