Description

The wall enclosing the garden northwest of Caton Green Farmhouse, along with a pair of gatepiers, dates from the early to mid-18th century. It is constructed of sandstone rubble and features coping, except at the southeastern end where it ramps upwards to meet the gate piers. The gate piers are made of rusticated sandstone, have a square plan, and are topped with moulded cornices. Each pier has a fluted Doric pilaster attached on the northwestern side, with a triglyph positioned above.
