Description
Mary Bank Farmhouse is a house dating from the late 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th and 19th centuries. It is constructed of sandstone rubble and features a stone slate roof. The building has a two-cell plan, with a third cell added to the right. It stands two storeys high and has three bays. The windows in the first and second bays have plain stone surrounds. The first bay contains sashed windows with glazing bars, while the second bay features double windows separated by a square mullion; the ground floor window is modern, and the first-floor window has glazing bars, with the right-hand window being sashed. The right-hand bay, which is beyond a straight joint, has a window with plain reveals on the first floor and a modern door with plain reveals. The door located between the first and second bays has a moulded surround and a stepped lintel inscribed with 'WIG 1683'. There are chimneys on the gables, with the left-hand chimney having a projecting stack, and another chimney located to the right of the second bay.
