Description

CORBRIDGE AYDON (North side) NZ 0066 19/103 Garden walls and gate piers to south and west of North Farmhouse

GV II

Garden walls and gate piers, C18. Coursed rubble, cut stone piers and dressings. South wall has gabled coping ramped up on either side of large square piers with chamfered bases, attached jambs and swept moulded caps. To east, coping ramped up to link with taller east wall which contains doorway with re-used doorhead dated 1717 as inner lintel. To west, wall with several blocked openings links to west wall with roughly-arched coping, returning east to join west end of farmhouse (q.v.).
