Description

SD 50 65 HALTON-WITH-AUGHTON HIGH ROAD

15/96 Barn 30 m north of farmhouse at Pedlers Farm II

Barn, Late C18th. Sandstone rubble and cobbles with slate roof. Wide entrance in west wall with segmental head and smaller, threshing door opposite in east wall. At the north end is a shippon with 2 doors with plain reveals in the west wall. The shippon at the south end is about 4 feet wider than the barn, the west wall only being set forwards. 3 doors with plain reveals in the south gable. Inside are 6 trusses, each re-using parts of cruck blades as principals. All have tie beams and light collars except truss 5 (from south) which has a king block.
