Description

The barn located 30 meters north of the farmhouse at Pedlers Farm dates from the late 18th century. It is constructed of sandstone rubble and cobbles, topped with a slate roof. The west wall features a wide entrance with a segmental head, while the east wall has a smaller threshing door. At the north end of the barn, there is a shippon with two doors that have plain reveals in the west wall. The shippon at the south end is approximately 4 feet wider than the barn, with the west wall set forward. The south gable contains three doors with plain reveals. Inside, the barn has six trusses, each incorporating parts of cruck blades as principals. All trusses have tie beams and light collars, except for the fifth truss from the south, which features a king block.
