Description
No. 2 Rectory Cottages is a 17th-century house constructed of slobbered rubble with a slate roof. It is a two-unit cruck building featuring gable stacks and a central entrance. The structure was altered from one storey to two when the top of the cruck truss was removed and the roof was raised. On either side of the door, there are rebated and chamfered window surrounds, each with a central mullion that has been removed. The window to the right has had its sill lowered. At the right end of the facade, there is a one-light fire window. The first-floor windows are modern and have plain reveals, and there is a modern door surround. Inside, the base of a cruck blade is exposed in the partition wall of the left room, rising from the front wall of the house. In the right room, there is a shouldered stone fireplace typical of the 18th century.
