Description

The gate piers and quadrant walls adjoining Church Lodge date from the mid-19th century and mark the entrance to the former drive leading to Lytham Hall Park. They are constructed of red brick featuring cobble panels and stone dressings. The inner pair of piers measures approximately 1 metre square and stands about 3 metres high. Each pier has a stone plinth, a narrow vertical panel of inlaid cobble in the center of each side, a weathered stone band near the top, and a moulded stone cap. The convex quadrant walls are about 1 metre high and include long horizontal panels interrupted by small square panels, with chamfered coping that has stubs of former iron railings. The terminal piers mirror the main pair. This structure forms a group with Church Lodge.
