Description
The gate piers and quadrant walls at the entrance to Lullingworth date from the early 19th century and are constructed from limestone blocks. The pair of gate piers measures approximately 700 millimeters squared at the frieze and features a low surround capping. Each pier has a small plinth and stands about 3.5 meters high overall. The piers are flanked by converging quadrants that rise to about 2.25 meters high and sweep up to the piers. The quadrants are stopped at the road edge, where they meet smaller piers measuring about 500 millimeters squared, topped with pyramid capping. There are no gates present as of 1985.
