Description
North Lodge with gates and quadrant walls at Swinton House dates from the mid to later 19th century. It features low, coped tooled sandstone quadrant walls that flank the northern entrance, along with decorative iron railings. The outer piers are square-plan and made of coursed ashlar, showcasing strapwork detailing on the ball finials. The inner piers, which are paired to the right, are stop-chamfered and square-plan, also with strapwork detailing on the ball finials, although the finial on the left is missing. The structure includes decorative iron gates for both pedestrians and vehicles.
