Barn On East Side Of Lane Circa 70 Metres North Of Wall Farmhouse

This barn, located about 70 metres north of Wall Farmhouse, is likely from the early 18th century. It is constructed of handmade brick with a cobble base and features some stone quoins, topped with a corrugated sheet roof. The barn has a T-shaped design with three bays and a very wide outshut porch that includes lofted storage on each side of the central wagon entrance. The porch has H-patterned breathers, while the set-back outer ends display a diamond pattern and have doors with stone surrounds. A notable feature is the roof truss, which has a kingpost raised on two short legs, with long struts rising from the hips that have a slight double curve, giving them an anthropomorphic appearance.
