Description
This is a milepost located on the towpath of the Leeds-Liverpool Canal, dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is made of stone and has a triangular section, standing approximately half a metre high with a pointed head. The sides facing the canal feature cast iron plates with raised lettering indicating the distances to Liverpool and Leeds, which are 50 miles and 77.5 miles, respectively.
