Description

Ollerton Bridge Number 1, also known as Number 91, is an accommodation bridge over the Leeds-Liverpool Canal, constructed between 1812 and 1814. The supervising engineers for the project were Joseph and James Fletcher, and the contractor was Thomas Heaton. The bridge is built from coursed sandstone and features an elliptical portal with rusticated voussoirs and a keystone. It has a band and a parapet made of larger rock-faced blocks, and the deck has a humped design.
