Description

Ollerton Bridge Number 3, also known as Number 89, is an accommodation bridge that spans the Leeds-Liverpool Canal. It was constructed between 1812 and 1814 under the supervision of engineers Joseph and James Fletcher, with Thomas Heaton as the contractor. The bridge is built of coursed sandstone and features an elliptical portal adorned with rusticated voussoirs and a keystone. It has a band and a parapet made of larger rock-faced blocks, along with pilastered ends that lead to curved keepers.
