Description
Ollerton Hall is a house dated 1840, as noted on the rainwater head. It is built of ashlar and has a low-pitched hipped slate roof. The building has a square plan with three bays on each side and features a service wing attached at the east end. The house is two storeys high and designed in a classical style, characterized by a plinth, panelled pilasters, clasping corner pilasters, a moulded cornice, and a low parapet.
At the front, there is a tetrastyle porch supported by two Doric columns in antis, with a plain entablature and cornice. The entrance door has two glazed panels and a rectangular fanlight above it. The ground floor has two tall sashed windows, while the first floor has three sashed windows, all featuring aprons and glazing bars that create 12 panes and margin panes. The left side of the house facing the garden has two canted bays on the ground floor and three sashed windows on the first floor similar to those at the front. There are two chimneys on the ridge flanking the entrance bay. To the right of the porch, the rainwater head is lettered "P." The service wing, marked "J E 1840," has two lower storeys and altered window openings. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to contain features of interest.
