Description

Pyebrook Hall is a house dated 1822, as noted on the rainwater heads. It is built from coursed squared stone on a plinth of dressed blocks, topped with a low-pitched pyramidal slate roof featuring a central chimney stack. The house has a rectangular four-room plan with a rear service wing and stands two storeys high in a simple classical style.

The entrance front, which faces north, is symmetrical and consists of three bays. The ground floor is largely covered by a projected wall that has a cornice and a plain parapet, which supports a prominent Tuscan porch with columns at all four corners. The back pair of columns is set into a recessed entrance front that features a round-headed doorway with radiating glazing bars in the fanlight and a keystone. To the right of this doorway is one sashed window, and above it are three round-headed sashed windows, all set in plain architraves with keystones. The central window on the first floor has glazing bars that intersect in the head.

The left return wall has two larger, similar windows on each floor, all sashed with glazing bars that create intersecting tracery in the heads. The right return wall has a modern porch and a square window at ground floor, along with two round-headed sashed windows on the first floor, one with four panes and the other featuring similar tracery. The rear wing includes a plain doorway and a large 12-pane window at ground floor, a traceried round-headed window above, and a gable chimney. The interior has not been inspected.
