Description
This milepost, located on the towpath of the Leeds-Liverpool Canal, dates from the early to mid-19th century. It has a triangular section and stands approximately half a metre high with a pointed top. The sides facing the canal feature cast iron plates with raised lettering indicating the distances to Liverpool and Leeds, which are 49 miles and 78.5 miles, respectively.
