Description
This is a 19th-century canal milestone located approximately 80 metres west of Chapel House Bridge on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal. The milestone is made of cast iron and has a triangular shape. The left-hand plate is inscribed with 'LEEDS 99 1/4 MILES', while the right-hand plate reads 'L'POOL 28 MILES'.
