Description

These are a pair of gate piers situated at the outer gateway of Royle Hall Farmhouse. They were built in the later 19th century, with one pier recently restored. The piers are constructed from sandstone ashlar and are approximately 3 metres high, with raised horizontal bands. They feature nailhead enrichment to the frieze, a prominent moulded cornice, and a moulded pedestal that formerly supported a ball finial, which has recently been stolen.
