Description

A terrace of four houses, numbers 17 to 20, built in 1859. They were constructed for the Dye works company. The houses are built of stucco with a pebble-dash finish, and have slate roofs. The two-storey, six-bay design features pebble-dash on the first floor with stucco strips defining the corners, alongside wide eaves and verges. The windows have chamfered reveals and label moulds, with the first-floor windows featuring continuous mouldings. They include three-light horizontally sliding sashes, while the ground floor windows of the first and sixth bays are casements. The entrances also have label moulds; those to numbers 17 and 20 lead to returns. Number 18 has a three-fielded-panel door with vertical panels.
