Description
Lakeside Cottages, consisting of Nos. 13 to 16, is a terrace of four houses built in 1860 for a dye works company. The buildings are finished in stucco with pebble-dash and feature a slate roof. They are two storeys high with six bays. The first floor is pebble-dashed, accented by stucco strips at the corners, and has wide eaves and verges. The windows have chamfered reveals and label moulds that extend continuously to the first floor. Most windows are three-light horizontally sliding sashes, while the first and sixth bays have casement windows. The entrances also feature label moulds, with those for Nos. 13 and 16 located on the returns. There are three cross-axial stacks. This terrace is an interesting example of early workers' housing.
