War memorial. c.1920. Marble statue on polished granite base. Robed female figure holding a book in one hand stands on a tapering square stone plinth. Inscription: "erected on behalf of the town by Alderman and Mrs. J.A. Bottomley". Surrounded by plain iron railings.
