Description
The barn and byre at Meadowbank Farm dates from 1700, as indicated on the door lintel, but has been added to and altered in the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. It consists of four sections: the first is built of brick, the second of hammer-dressed stone, the third of snecked stone, and the fourth of squared rubble, all topped with a graduated stone slate roof. There is a projecting plinth, central cart doors, and rows of vents on either side. A door on the right is basket-arched, chamfered, and features a dated lintel. The 18th-century bay to the left has square-cut door and window surrounds. A loft hatch is present on the right gable with a shaped lintel. Most of the roof structure has been repaired or replaced. The building is included for its group value.
