Description

The haybarn and cartshed at Widowscroft Farm, built in 1837, is constructed from roughly dressed stone and features a graduated stone slate roof. The structure consists of a three-bay haybarn with one enclosed bay to the right, which is situated above the cartsheds that are accessed from a gable at a lower level. There is a continuous outshut at the rear of the building. The roof is supported by square piers in bays one to three, and there are cart doors located in bay four. The gable has finials, although one is missing. The lower-level cartshed features chamfered stone lintels that are supported by square piers with shaped capitals, and the roof is constructed using king-post trusses. This building is included for its group value.
