Description
This is a barn and cartshed located to the north of Winley Hill Farmhouse, dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It is constructed from dressed stone and brick, with roofs that have been renewed in concrete tile and feature stone ridge coping, while the pigsty has pantiles. The barn is designed in an L-shape, with the cartshed adjoining to the west. The openings are plain and boarded. The south end of the barn is made of red brick, which may be older, and includes a pent two-cell pigsty with arched feeding chutes leading to the exercise yards. The barn has a hipped roof, and the cartshed features six bays with segmental arches, some of which are partly filled. This structure is included for its group value.
