Description

The haybarn and attached shed located south of Parkside Farmhouse is an early 19th-century structure that has been converted for storage use. It is built of squared limestone with sandstone dressings and features brick arches. The haybarn has a corrugated-asbestos roof, while the shed has a pantiled roof with stone-flagged eaves. The tall four-bay haybarn showcases elliptical brick arches supported by wide rectangular-plan piers with impost bands, and it has a hipped roof. The solid left return of the barn is notable, and the lean-to shed on the right return includes a pair of boarded doors set in an elliptical archway with an impost band and keystone. The pent roof of the shed slopes down from the barn's eaves and has coped half gables. An altered range on the left return is not considered of special interest. This building is included for its group value.
