Description
The haybarn, located to the south of Hart Hall, dates from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. It is constructed from coursed herringbone-tooled sandstone and features stepped eaves, a pantiled roof, and a stone chimney. This long, single-storey building has a loft above the earlier north-west part, which includes a double cart door and a large open section. There are various boarded doors and loading doors throughout the structure. The north-west gable end has a lean-to pigsty with a feeding chute and a boarded door on the return. Above the pigsty, there are two loading doors and a small chimney. A lean-to hayshed attached to the rear of the haybarn is not considered of special interest. This building is included for its group value.
