Description

Nos. 208 and 210 Great Clowes Street are a pair of houses dating to circa 1840, originally designed as a single composition. They were later used as a hotel and are now flats. The building is constructed of painted brick with stone dressings, topped by a hipped roof covered in concrete tiles. It is three storeys high with a five-window facade. The central entrance to No. 208 is framed by a Roman Doric portico and entablature with a cornice. The sash windows have been renewed but retain their original openings and feature flat-arched brick heads and a stone sill band to the first floor. A modern timber fascia runs along the eaves. The building features end walls and axial stacks. The interior remains uninspected.
