Description

The Milnrow War Memorial, dating from around 1920, is a significant structure located on New Hey Road in Milnrow. It features an ashlar base and a bronze statue of a battle-clad soldier holding a gun. The soldier stands atop a tall, square, tapering shaft that displays the roll of honour for the 1939-45 conflict, while the base lists the roll of honour for the 1914-18 conflict. The memorial is inscribed with the words, "In Memory of the men of the Milnrow Urban District who died for England."
